1st cousins, clothes
Here's D with his first cousins who came with Grandma to visit the other day. The girls are definitely excited to have a new cousin to play with! Our nephew isn't quite so sure yet - give him time and they'll be playing together soon enough!
I packed up D's newborn clothes today! Can't believe that he's grown enough to be out of them. He's still not out of the extra small diapers (I tried another small size today and got leaked on.)
He's grown long enough in the legs though that some of the 0-3 month sleepers don't fit when he stretches, so he'll soon probably be in the 3-6 month sleepers just for leg length purposes!

Beets!
My mom was in town this week and we made beet pickles! We got 24 pints out of my tiny little garden... Probably 2 pints or so out of the big beet pictured alone.
Not sure what I'm going to plant next year -- I still have plenty of sweet pickles, tomato juice, pizza/spaghetti sauce and green beans. I don't actually have any more jars left and have had to borrow from my mom and MIL. I'll have to think over the winter on what I want to put in next year's garden. Thanks Mom for all the help, and to my MIL for the green beans! Thanks you both for the sweet corn too! :)

5 weeks + 1 day
D was 5 weeks + 1 day old in this picture. We went to our first collegiate volleyball game as a family tonight. My mom was in town, so she came with too! A big thanks to her for helping re-educate this newbie on feeding D rice cereal too! I know he really appreciated it! ;)

Weight loss
I've lost 3 pounds so far. Unfortunately, I wish it was because I was exercising, but it's just eating less with having an infant in the house! Imagine what I'd lose if I'd actually start exercising again!

One month old!
D turned one month old on Thursday, the 6th! We can hardly believe our little boy is that old already and changing so fast. He had his 1 month appointment on Friday and he was 11 lbs. already!
He's still in between sizes - he fits the newborn size, but also fits into some of the 0-3 month. Although the newborn sizes are starting to look tighter, and there are a few 0-3 month sizes that are too big yet. He's still in the tinyG gDiapers and hasn't moved up to the small size. We've tried 3 times with the smalls and had leaks twice... So, hopefully he grows a little more to be able to go to the true cloth diapers soon - the tinyGs look so tight on him right now!
At one month old, we've started him on rice cereal before bedtime. We've tried feeding him rice cereal out of the bowl and he ate it OK, but he's still really hungry and almost acting starved when he gets done finishing his bottle after the rice, so, we'll see if we make some adjustments to how we feed him the cereal. I think for now, we'll just probably put it in the bottle instead of spoon feeding him. It's hard to believe that he's already not just on formula anymore. Another month, and he'll be starting veggies!!
For these pictures, he's in a 0-3 outfit. :)

Work!
We have a new 'normal' to figure out this week for all three of us. It was back to work for Chris and I this week. Chris had an 'easy' week to start with -- he commuted two days and then worked in his home office for Thursday and Friday.
I took D to work with me at my bookkeeping job on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons this week. After getting all that we needed for both of us to the office (thankfully my office is right off the parking lot), I got some work done... Although, for the 4 hours or so that I was at the office, I could only log about 2.5 hours of office work, so not my most productive office time, but I still got some things done.
D needed to be fed and changed a few times between naps, so he kept me on my toes. :) Thankfully my office is quiet (there's only 3 of us there; my boss and a salesman). It worked out OK, but I know we'll have to talk to the potential babysitter to get something set up soon!

1st Cowboys football game
Daddy and D watched their first Dallas Cowboys game together on Wednesday night - the Cowboys beat the Giants, 24-17.
Zip Line
Three weeks ago Chris' girls team had it's year-end party out in the country at a pond. There was a grill out, campfire with s'mores, boating, swimming and a zip line if anyone wanted to try it. It was actually pretty cool that night, so no one swam or went on the boats, but a few people tried the zip line. This picture is pretty dark as it was dusk, but that's Chris in the middle going over the pond on the zip line - he went twice!

3 weeks old!
A little overdue - but here D is at 3 weeks. He's just missing the glove and he'd match the monkey's pose... we do have an outfit that is gray with a star on it, but he's still a little small for it.
We'll be interested to see how much he's gained at his 1 month appointment this week!
We've had the last set of grandparents to meet D visit this weekend. We're taking it pretty easy.
At church this morning, D was hungry right when the sermon was going to start, so we went out, but were back in just in time for the closing songs. We're pretty sure that both of his 'dressy' newborn outfits are now too small for him, or will be shortly!
